Key stage 1 scaled score conversion tables published
We have published guidance about scaled scores, including conversion tables for the 2016 key stage 1 (KS1) tests. You should use the tables to determine the scaled scores for each pupil, for each test. These test results are not reported but are to be used as one piece of evidence to inform your teacher assessment judgement.
Standard setting guidance for key stage 1 tests
We have also published guidance about the recent standard setting exercise for the 2016 KS1 tests. We used the internationally-accepted practice, ‘Bookmark process’ to set standards. The same process was used to set the standards on the phonics screening check and the English grammar, punctuation and spelling tests. This process involves convening teacher panels to recommend where the standard should be set.
Information leaflet for parents about key stage 1
We have produced a leaflet for parents of pupils at the end of key stage 1 to tell them more about key stage 1 assessments. We will distribute the leaflet through social media channels. Schools might also find it helpful to use in their communications to parents.
